Podcast Bootcamp

Class Level: Beginner to Intermediate

Prerequisites required: None

DCTV Certificate: Podcast

This bootcamp will teach you the fundamental skills to create and produce your very own podcast at DCTV Studios. From development to recording, you’ll gain hands-on experience with industry-standard tools and techniques to bring your podcast to life.

The bootcamp is divided into two focused sections: Producing and Technical.

Podcast Production Sessions

Development and planning
Writing outlines, scripts, and interview questions
Interviewing guests

Podcast Technical Sessions

Understanding the podcast studio console
Recording video and setting audio
Monitoring video and audio
Live switching between camera angles
Basic opening graphics and lower thirds
Basic understanding of the audio board
Audio levels and mic setup for host/guest
Recording on up to 4 ISO feeds

Note:

Post live-switching editing is not included in this offering.
Zoom interviews may be introduced if time allows.
Live streaming is not part of this training and is reserved for paid client productions.

Certification & Studio Access:
Upon successful completion, participants will earn a Podcast Certification, which allows them to start a project and reserve DCTV’s Podcast Studio.

Note: All equipment and studio use at DCTV must be for non-commercial projects only, meaning they cannot be used for monetary gain or placed behind a paywall once completed, and must premiere on DCTV first.
