Reel Insights:
Studio Tour, Film Screening and Panel Discussion

DCTV is proud to host an afternoon program as part of the 2026 ReelAbilities Film Festival, celebrating disability, accessibility, and creative expression through film.

Join us at DCTV for a behind-the-scenes look at our studios, followed by a curated screening of short films and a thoughtful panel conversation focused on local media, filmmaking, and creative careers. This event offers an opportunity to explore how stories are developed and produced, learn about pathways into media work, and hear directly from filmmakers and media professionals about their experiences in the industry.

This afternoon program is designed for students, emerging creators, and anyone curious about storytelling, inclusive media practices, and the role of local film and television in shaping culture.

Film Screenings:

BEAR
KATE HAMMER | 2023 | 11 Min
Jude, a neurodivergent creative, is doing her best to navigate a conventional world. While urgently searching for employment, a high-pressure job interview becomes even more uncomfortable when no one acknowledges the obvious—and unusual—presence of a bear in the room. [Trailer]

WORKING DIFFERENTLY
HANNAH CURRIE | 2023 | 23 MIN
Through a series of interviews with crew and established industry figures, we are exposed to the importance of accessibility and inclusion within the film and television industry and shown why this should become the industry standard. [Trailer]

Following the screenings, join us for a panel discussion exploring local media, filmmaking, and creative career paths, with a focus on access, representation, and the realities of working in today’s media landscape.

We look forward to welcoming you to DCTV as we host this ReelAbilities Film Festival event.
